The day after my amazing Princess Half Marathon I went to Disney!
One thing that helped me through that 13 miles, was knowing that I was going to get to go back the next day and have a blast riding the rides and enjoying the ambiance of Disney World!
My mother, cousin – Tara, and friend – Carla decided to stay a day more than any one else and go to Magic Kingdom. We were thankful to be upright and feeling more energetic when we woke up on Monday morning and used it all up with a whirl-wind day.
We bought matching crowns while we were in Orlando that weekend and knew we had to each wear them for extra fun. Because of those crowns we were called “Princesses” all day from the Disney staff. When they needed to get by it was “Excuse me, Princesses!” if they were simply walking by we would get “Hello Princesses, having a good time?” We all got a kick out of it, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
We might have called a little more attention to ourselves because of the crowns, but we also received a ton of attention due to our race shirts as well. I love Disney World. Only there can you feel so extremely good about finishing a 1/2 marathon. Every worker, i really do mean every one, stopped us to congratulate us on our race well done. It was so great! Thank you Disney for making me feel so good!
Tara and I did not come down very quickly from our “being at Disney high”. As soon as we entered the park there was a character show going on in front of the castle. So we stood from a distance watching and dancing our hearts out!
Then it was on to the rides. Fast passes are pretty much the best thing, ever. We loved hopping from ride to ride and walking around the park. We even had our joke used at The Laugh Floor and I was on the jumbo-tron too. That always screams a good day!
The Buzz Light Year game. My “die aliens!” face! haha!
Mom definitely took the cake with her awesome face!
The Carousel of Progress was finally updated a little bit!
The new Fantasy Land was very cool to see. It is all centered around Belle’s, from The Beauty and the Beast, town. It really looks exactly like the movie. Even Gaston’s tavern. We made sure to stop in and get some Lefou’s Brew. Holy Cow! That stuff simple rocked. Frozen apple juice with toasted marshmallow mixed in and mango deliciousness on top? I could have drank 3! It was even cuter that it came in a Gaston stein.
We did not get to see the new restaurant, the line was ridiculous, or the new fantasy land rides but we had a great time walking around and reliving The Beauty and the Beast. One of my fav’s of all time!
The Beast’s castle
The Haunted Mansion
Her favorite. I am pretty sure we were the only people without any children that rode on Winnie the Pooh.
I know, Tara, I still have not picked my favorite.
We had a fantastic day. We really did. I have never had a girls day at Disney before. It was so enjoyable just being there and going with the flow. Having a great time being with each other, enjoying the ambiance, and loving Disney. I am so blessed to have these women in my life. A mom who supports me and loves me through all of my adventures. A cousin who joins in on my craziness and can ALWAYS make me laugh. And a friend who has been my second mom, loving me, supporting me, and having fun even if we are completely crazy. Thank you, ladies for such a great weekend. It was so memorable!
Disney, thank you for the great time. Thank you for the entire weekend. It was an experience like no other. I cannot wait to go back!

As an Orlando gal and someone who spends a ton of time at Disney, I still love seeing other people enjoy the parks!! I also did the half and had such a great time- I’m always grinning as I driver through spots on property where we ran as it was such an awesome experience!
[…] had gotten around to going. In February while I was buying my ticket to go to the parks for our girls day, I decided to buy the 3 day park pass instead so that I could use the remaining two days soaking in […]
